If you take away the porn, what have you got left?

Stupid Australian Government wants to take my porn, and slow down my searches to an incredibly dull pace.

Not fucking happy Jan.

Ask and ye shall receive...

"Who the hell is this Joe Six Pack that Sarah Palin keeps drumming on about?" hundreds of you have been asking me. Well, only one of you really... but I like a challenge, so I put all my investigative journalism skills to find out the truth.

Of course, by investigative journalism skills I mean Google and beer. This is what I found;

Well, there's definitely a six pack, but is he the typical American voter? I see a tiny glimmer of intelligence in those eyes, so no.

Onwards I trolled;

This bathroom looks too European for my liking. Can't definitively call this one American either.

Google ho!

OK, this one could be an American voter. He's got the six pack going down, and he's stupid enough to wear his pants in the shower. But I'm not too sure he truly represents Palin's version of Joe Six Pack.

Hmmm... this search isn't getting me anywhere. Lets expand the parameters. If I search on "Typical American Voter" this is what I get;

Ah, now we're getting some where. Nice mullet and beat up truck, but there is still something lacking here.

Quick! To the Google mobile! STAT!

Now this is on the right on the money. Absolutely no hint of class in this fine gentleman, no hint of intelligence either. This has got to be Sarah Palin's ultimate American voter. Our long and often deadly search has finally come to an end.

But I can't leave you with that image burning into your retina. Here's one more good one to set you on your way;

Find more like him over at Rule the City.

PS - Apologies to any Americans that stumble across this post... I don't think you're all stupid - but you did elect George W. Twice.

Morons.

Who knew he was actually funny?

I'm not a fan of Red Symons at all. How can someone make a life long career out of being a cranky old cunt on TV? OK, I'll admit he was once famous for being in Sky Hooks (while dressed in drag), but in my lifetime, all he is is a hate filled ugly man on our TV's.

So when I found this video being credited to him on Joe.My.God I was quite surprised, as it's quite well done and made me chuckle;

Well done Red - or who ever did it for you.

Joe Six Pack and friends...

I've resisted the urge to do a post about the US presidential election for so long now, but stupid Sarah Palin is just giving me too much ammunition to ignore.

I'm really beginning to think the woman is retarded. I'm not sure that she ever actually said "I can see Russia from my house", but she is using Alaska's proximity to the former Soviet Union as her qualification for US foreign policy. That's kinda like me saying that since I've seen a couple of vadge's, so I'm now qualified to be your gynaecologist.

In an interview with Katie Couric, she was asked what news publications she reads to keep abreast of all the current events. "All of them." Hmmm... concise answer there Sarah, but not what Katie wanted. When pressed for specific details she responded with "You know, generally, all of them." This woman was a journalism major at college, so for her not to be able to name a single news paper is pretty damn scary. I'd almost expect her to say "The Bible" is her only source of news.

She is very vocal about being anti-abortion (it should be illegal in all cases except death for the mother, she says), and doesn't believe in sex education being taught in schools (well she thinks kids she be taught abstinence but not how to use contraception) - so that's probably how her 16 year old daughter ended up pregnant and unwed. She probably just telling the girl to pray for a miscarriage.

Some other scary points - lifetime member of the NRA, supports the teaching of "Creationism" in schools, against gay marriage and gay partner benefits, disagrees with listing the polar bear and beluga whale as endangered species and thinks man has nothing to do with Global warming.

I think she is taking the conservative point of view to the extreme.

I know everyone is entitled to their own political beliefs, but it's a fucking scary thought that this woman has a 50-50 chance of being the under study to the president of the USA. Very scary.

And the final nail in the coffin for me against Palin? While she was mayor of the Alaskan town of Wasilla, it was her policy that rape victims were charged for their rape kits (between $300 and $1200). Hmmm... that's not going to discourage women from coming forward to report the crime is it? That is a disgusting policy.

The only good thing about Palin in the race for Vice President is that it's giving the fantastic Tina Fey so much comedy gold

The resemblence is uncanny, and Fey has got the accent down pat. Watch some of the SNL videos over at Gay Sky Hooker

I love you Tina. I'd go straight for you Tina.

Seriously.

Sensationalised much?

I'm not a very political gay. I'm not into going to Pride and while I support the right for Gay Marriage, I won't heading off to protest any time soon. But this story on the Courier Mail website from AAP has really pissed me off this morning.

"Doctor's Criticise Lesbian IVF Case" blares the headline. It definitely caught my interest. I have a lesbian friend who has used IVF to conceive her children and would hate to see some precedent land her in trouble for her family in the future, so I read on -

"A lesbian couple who tried to sue their doctor after having IVF twin girls shouldn't have been allowed to take the case to court, the Australian Medical Association (AMA) says."

So what are the suing for? They had girls when they were promised boys? Has the doctor harassed them? Was there some dodgy dealings surrounding their sexuality?

No - they are suing because they only wanted one embryo implanted, but the doctor put two up there and now they have to raise two children. They wanted the doc to pay the schooling costs of the second child. Their claim has been dismissed.

It annoys me that they have played up the gay/lesbian angle in this story. If it was a straight couple they wouldn't have used the word "straight" in the headline, so why use the term lesbian? Would they mention the race of the couple if they were Asian or Aboriginal? No, that would be racist.

The story goes a long way to marginalise lesbians, and could at a pinch be seen to be vilifying them. The tone of the story suggests that this couple are greedy. It mentions their combined income and implies that they are well off enough to raise a second child.

The fact that this is a lesbian couple has no bearing on the outcome on the trial and the story so why mention that fact?

This is shoddy journalism. Using sensationalist terms (though lesbian isn't that controversial any more) will potentially cause a flurry of interest from Christin and right-wing groups, and get more page hits. Well it got me to read it.

Pick up your game AAP.

Can you change a billion?

I really suck at maths. This was proven true when last playing the "New Millennium" Edition of Monopoly where the dollar values have gone up into the millions and I couldn't get my head around getting two million dollars every time you pass go.

So I would probably get short changed a lot if I lived in Zimbabwe.

Yes that man is a holding a $500,000,000 note - that's five hundred million dollars. But joe.my.god reports that as hyperinflation continues to cripple the nation (a loaf of bread costs $25 billion dollars), they are going to start produce $25 billion and $50 billion notes.

The government of Robert Magabe is crippling the African country and revolution is bound to hit sooner rather than later.
