There's some pretty intense flames coming out of the gaming room window on the right. It's rumoured that an electrical fault in the basement caused the fire and soon spread up to the ceiling on the top floor.The place had around 700 patrons in various states of drunkenness - luckily there were no major injuries, with only seven people taken to hospital with smoke related problems.
I spent lots and lots of money there over the years - though the last time I was there there was a whole lot of angry going on. I seriously thought the bouncers were beat the crap out of one of the girls in our group.
The Vic was an iconic Brisbane night spot (though it did smell of old beer and vomit) - it will be missed.
