Hmmmm.... shiny

I bought a new laptop... it's supposed to inspire me to write some fantastically witty posts (well its supposed to make writing easier if I don't have to hold in the charger to make the fucking thing work).

But in the week I've had it...*nothing*

Sigh.

But I did make an interesting choice not to transfer across my iTunes account to my shiny new laptop. Well I started to, but only 300 songs got transfered before I got sick of the old heap of shit turning off on me.

So that's left a little hole in my collection of close to 4000 songs.

Fuck.

So of the remaining people that actually might read this post... I need so suggestions to repopulate me decimated iTunes library.

So far I've gone a bit spastic with classic Smashing Pumpkins, found some great acoustic Lady Gaga and Boys Like Girls, reacquainted myself with some screaming System of a Down, and remembered how much I loved Machine Gun Fellatio at Uni.

You get the idea... I have a far reaching taste in music. So throw me some ideas of some great new, old or down right embarrassing music that I must get my hands on.

Extra points if you manage to avoid mentioning Mariah Carey/Whiteny Houston/Celine Dion (yes I looking at you Mr Skyhooker).

I'm especially liking Fleet Foxes and Sigur Rós from this list and still enjoy Blitzen Trapper (Furr and Black River Killer) and The Tallest Man on Earth from previous such discoveries.

Also check out "Iron and Wine", Death Cab For Cutie, Frou Frou

Scissor Sisters are always a hot choice.
Gin is a good new choice.
La Reoux are one of my new faves.

I'm with Clairebear, but also: Jamiroquai, Air, Daft Punk, Anything that's ever featured on a Ministry of Sound release, Lily Allen, Royksopp, Sheryl Crow and when it comes to gay classics, well I don't need to mention any you'll work those out for yourself but if you don't end up with entire discographies for Madge, Kylie, Dannii, Beyonce, Christina et al then your gay-card may be revoked.

Also, seeing as things are hyper emotional with you atm, Here are albums for every mood.

Angry: Crystal Castles - screaming at exploding computer games in the 80s whilst high

Generally Happy - Madonna 'Celebration' 38 tracks spanning 25 years. Each a joy. Anything by Kylie

Clubby - David Guetta, Lady Gaga - Hard to not dance to these. Veronicas 'hook me up' deserves an honorable mention

Sad - Natalie Imbruglia 'Counting down the days' very overlooked and awesome. Also 'Folklore' by nelly furtado, again overlooked but awesome

Soul Searchy - Darren hayes 'this delicate thing we've made' epic 2 cds that will leave you feeling like the dali lama

Suicidal - Darren Hayes 'The tension and the spark' Yes, he's on this list twice. The reason why this album didn't sell was because everyone killed themselves after listening to it, and word of mouth couldn't spread. Seriously - listen to 'unlovable' and when you peel yourself off the floor, gimme a call and we can cry together.

Sexy - Madonna 'erotica', seriously sexy. and to a club beat. Ministry of Sounds anthems 3 cd - this has been on permanent rotation at the beat for almost 3 years now. I can't listen to it without getting hard.

I have all of these on cd so let me know if you want to borrow
